RTK-S: the four-letter abbreviation stands for a newly developed dry rotor cold water meter using an annular piston that ZENNER presented at the ISH 2011 for the first time. The meter is characterised by a completely new counting mechanism. The “S” stands for “Small” and signifies the low weight and environment-friendly manufacturing process achieved by the maker by reducing the brass content of the meter housing. 
 
Annular piston water meters are mostly employed by communal water suppliers in France, the UK, Benelux nations, the Middle East and South Africa and are becoming increasingly popular in Germany. Out-standing metrology precision and reliable function regardless of installa-tion positioning are positive features of this meter type. The RTK-S measures actual consumption more precisely than e.g. impeller water meters thanks to its volumetric quantification method and sensitivity. As the counting mechanism in the dry running cold water meter has water-tight encapsulation, consumption is reliably counted, even if the water quality is poor - if it contains foreign bodies, for example. The RTK-S is approved to EU Measuring Instruments Directive (MID) standards. This meter also offers the great benefit of flexibility as the installation posi-tioning doesn’t affect its use or accuracy. High metrology consistency over the entire service life makes our RTK-S a very durable meter.

The completely newly developed counting mechanism is a unique fea-ture of our new meter. It is equipped with smart communication means as standard and can be scanned without influencing the metrology characteristics of the counting mechanism as it is electronic. This tech-nology incorporates flow direction detection, which means differences between actual meter readings and remote readings no longer exist. Data obtained by electronic scanning can be transmitted by M-bus, Wireless M-bus, ZR-bus, wireless or impulse interface as required. Like our MTK-S multi-jet dry rotor meter the RTK-S is particularly light. Our new meter weighs 25% less than standard meters with heavy WVG housing but has equal metrology precision.
